About
Designed for families, caregivers, direct support professionals, and human service agencies supporting adults with intellectual disabilities through grief and loss, “Compassionate Grief Support for Adults with ID” gives you practical, person-centered tools to recognize grief responses, reduce avoidable escalation, and respond with dignity. In this self-paced course, you’ll learn how grief can show up as behavior, communication, or withdrawal, how to assess needs without judgment, and how to use compassionate strategies that support safety, clarity, and meaningful connection. By the end, you’ll be able to create a supportive plan for day-to-day interactions, improve staff/agency consistency, and strengthen quality of care with clear, respectful guidance. This is an 8-10 module program depending on staff role and title.
